BACKGROUND

Certified Health Physicist, Masters Degree in Health Physics, Nationally Registered Radiation Protection Technologist. Appointed to the Texas Radiation Advisory Board by Gov Perry in 2011. Twenty-four years experience in health physics and sixteen years experience in industrial safety. Prepared and presented radiation safety training on several levels, from professionals to the general public. I am familiar with external and internal dose calculations and reconstruction. Have experience in environmental, medical, and industrial radiation safety. Have functioned as RSO for DoD, DoE, and EPA remediation projects. Have CDL with HAZMAT endorsement. Familiar with MARSSIMs and RESRAD.

Review and update all of the nuclear technology classes of the EH&S department. Developed new class for nuclear power technicians following INPO criteria. Coordinate efforts to expand nuclear technologies over several departments. Instructor of nuclear technology classes.

Prepare and present several radiation safety training classes, assist with sealed source handling and transportation, perform exposure/dose calculations. Health Physics consulting.

Provided radiation safety information supporting a large disposal project involving thorium and uranium waste. Performed radiation protection program audits as well as reviewed operational procedures. Prepared and present radiation safety training courses. Maintained the Radioactive material license for the Earth Tech-San Antonio Office. Participating in the Dose Reconstruction Project through a small business for NIOSH. Assisted with waste minimization and cost estimation computer program for a DoE contract. Assist other Earth Tech offices with radiation and radiation safety related questions. Oversaw instrument inventory and calibration, review radiation related procedures, proposals, and other documents. Prepared and presented many radiation safety related training classes.
